Rye and high-wheat bourbon from Atlanta
ASW Distillery works in Atlanta on Scottish-style twin copper pot stills, and it goes after whiskey styles the big distilleries mostly ignore. Resurgens Rye is 100% malted rye. Malting sprouts and dries the grain before it's mashed, and it pulls rye away from pepper and toward graham cracker and vanilla. ASW calls it Atlanta's first rye since Prohibition.
We carry three. Alongside Resurgens there's Georgia Heartwood, a cask-strength bourbon with 45% wheat in the mash, finished on Georgia white oak staves. Then Fiddler Antique Rye, Distiller's Selection: 95% rye, aged 8 years and 4 months, 116.8 proof.
