Three Chord

Openly sourced blends, including a double-bonded rye

Three Chord is a blender, and it names its sources: Wilderness Trail, Bardstown Bourbon Company, and MGP. Its rye, Riot, is double-bonded. Bottled-in-bond normally means one distillery and one season. So Three Chord had Bardstown and MGP extend their bonded plants to its own warehouse, then blended a bonded rye from each.

Neil Giraldo, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist, founded the brand, and master blender Kars Petersen builds the blends. We carry the three that shipped in our Bourbon-of-the-Month Club and Whiskey-of-the-Month Club in May. Strange is a Kentucky bourbon finished in Strange Family Vineyards pinot noir barrels. Unedited is a 118-proof cask-strength bourbon blended from Tennessee, Indiana, and Kentucky whiskey. And Riot is the rye.
