Crafted in the remote, windswept Orkney Islands of northern Scotland, Highland Park has maintained traditional distillation methods for over two centuries. It remains one of the few distilleries that still hand-turns its own floor malt. Because Orkney's climate prevents trees from growing, the local Hobbister Moor peat is composed entirely of decomposed floral heather. When burned to dry the barley, it imparts a sweet, aromatic maritime smoke that is entirely distinct from the heavy, medicinal peat found in Islay scotches.
Nose: Rich toffee, ripe cherries, dark chocolate, and a delicate wave of aromatic heather smoke.
Palate: Full-bodied and exceptionally smooth. Layers of heather honey, marzipan, and citrus zest are balanced by spiced oak, cinnamon, and cocoa nibs.
Finish: Long, elegant, and luxurious, leaving a lasting impression of sweet malt, espresso bean, and a gentle whisper of campfire smoke.
