Virginia Distillery Co.

Virginia Distillery Co. makes American single malt in Lovingston, at the foot of the Blue Ridge: 100% malted barley, distilled in two copper pot stills built in Scotland. The cask is where the bottles part ways. Ours run from bourbon barrels to port, Cabernet, and PX sherry casks, plus The Brewer's Coalition, single malts finished in barrels that held stout from Goose Island, Hardywood, and North Coast.

Dr. George Moore founded the distillery in 2011, and his wife Angela and son Gareth run it now. Courage & Conviction, named for his line "have the courage of your convictions," is the all-Virginia range: we carry the flagship, Bourbon Cask, and PX Sherry Single Cask No. 1212. The rest of the shelf is the Cabernet Cask and two cask-strength single barrels, the 7 Year Port Cask and the VHW, which marries Virginia malt with aged Scotch.
